Contact & Booking

The Roundhouse offers a unique experience for guests. It is off-grid and a 10-minute walk away from parking, across agricultural fields and through woodland. This enables guests to have their own wonderful private space to enjoy. Please be prepared for a truly outdoor holiday, for the Cumbrian weather and for not having the everyday electronic devices you have at home. The site offers a ‘get away from it all’ experience – perfect for anyone wanting some rest & relaxation away from the hustle & bustle of daily life.

Booking

Our availability calendar is below. Bookings can be made via the calendar for fully serviced packages for 3 or more nights. Alternatively, and for all other bookings, please contact us directly.

Our prices include all the firelighters, kindling and wood you need for the wood burners & hot tub, as well as a variety of cupboard essentials e.g. tea, coffee, milk, sauces, etc (click here for a full list).

We are now offering two packages for our guests to choose from, the regular fully serviced package, and a DIY stay with optional extras.

The fully serviced package is as described on The Roundhouse page. It includes welcome goodies (e.g. bubbly and farm cheese, eggs & milk) and a full changeover (cleaning, bedding etc).

The Roundhouse is now running on a self check-in/self check-out basis. This means walking your things across, rather than the quad transfer & personal welcome. You would be welcome to arrive and depart anytime (rather than the usual 5pm/1pm), if I don’t have other guests immediately before/after your stay.

My dad may be available for quad luggage transfers, but this is dependent on times and his availability, so would need to be booked in advance and isn’t guaranteed. This would be £5 cash each way, payable to my dad. He will be donating this to his chosen charity, St. John’s Hospice.

Please watch this film to make sure you are happy with the walk length & terrain – you’ll need rucksacks and/or over-the-shoulder bags. We could reduce the cost by £20 if you would prefer not to have the welcome treats, and by £50 if you would like to bring your own linen & towels.

The DIY T&Cs are below. Please get in touch if you have any queries.

Costs for both packages:

2-nights
Fully serviced: £360, £180 per night
DIY: £260, £130 per night

3-nights
Fully serviced: £480, £160 per night
DIY: £360, £120 per night

4-nights
Fully serviced: £600, £150 per night
DIY: £440, £110 per night

7-nights
Fully serviced: £840, £120 per night
DIY: £630, £90 per night

More than 7-nights are also possible, up to 55% off for monthly stays. Please contact us to discuss.

DIY Stays
The Roundhouse will be as it was when the last guests left, so it won’t be cleaned, and we can’t guarantee its condition. You will need to bring your own bedding covers & towels, and take away your recycling & rubbish. You can add bedding & towels for £50. The DIY option means using the compost loos & hot tub as they are, or refreshing them. Cleaning equipment is provided & we ask you to leave the Roundhouse as you would like to find it.

We also offer gift vouchers – treat your friends or family to a Roundhouse stay to celebrate their birthday, marriage or anniversary

Please see the Terms & Conditions for details of the cancellation policy.

    Some FAQs

    Where do we park?
There is one allocated parking space located a 10 minute walk away. Additional cars are by arrangement only.

Can we have visitors while at the Roundhouse?
The Roundhouse is designed to accommodate up to 4 people, and as such, this is the maximum occupancy. To preserve the tranquil location and enjoyment for all we ask that guests (by prior arrangement) notify us of any visitors. Visitors are welcome within daylight hours, and you must take full responsibility for them and their actions during their time on site and ensure they are respectful of the farm and neighbours at all times.

    Will I need holiday insurance?
Although not a mandatory part of the T&Cs, we would advise the purchase of holiday insurance.

    Are there any additional charges?
No – the only amount you have to pay is the price per night, we won’t be charging security deposits. We understand wear and tear is sometimes unavoidable. We ask that you let us know before you leave about any damage and we would only charge you if the damages exceeded £25.

Can I bring my dog? Can visitors bring their dogs?
Pets are unfortunately not permitted to come to the Roundhouse due to the farm animals and badger set nearby. The glamping sites run by my two sisters may be able to accommodate dogs – links to their businesses are available on this page.

Can I smoke in the Roundhouse?
The Roundhouse and all areas within the fenced area are strictly non-smoking.
